Maria Christou

Production Coordinator

Maria grew up in both the Chicago and Washington, D.C. suburbs before attending college in Orlando at the University of Central Florida's Rosen College of Hospitality Management, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Entertainment Management. While at UCF, she founded Knight Pops, a student organization that focuses on media and entertainment analysis, with a membership that grew to over 100 students during her time as President. Maria has a passion for all aspects of entertainment, including film, theatre, television, and music. In the Summer of 2023, she studied abroad at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England, where she learned about filmmaking from a team of esteemed professionals in the craft.

Maria joined the Mertz Productions team in early 2023 as a part-time Production Assistant and began full-time as Production Coordinator in 2024. As Production Coordinator, Maria supports the leadership team in the execution of shows, both in the preparatory stage and on show site. In addition, she leads the B2B social media strategy for Mertz Productions, creating and planning content across various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

In her free time, Maria loves watching movies, reading, exploring the Orlando area, and spending time with her family and friends.
